From Monday October 6th, 61 days of roadworks on Bath Road in Beckington means buses can’t follow their normal route through Beckington village.
First’s D2 can follow the proposed diversion which is along Frome Road into Beckington and then turning by the Woolpack up Warminster Road en route to Rode and onto Bath.
Because of low hanging trees on Warminster Road, Faresaver’s X34 can’t follow this diversion and so, for the 61 day road closure, Faresaver can’t serve Beckington.
So after leaving Frome and after Oldford, the X34 will not go via Beckington at all but go along the A36 and A361 directly to Rode …. before proceeding to Trowbridge and onwards towards Melksham and Chippenham
We will post on Beckington Village how their residents can use the D2 to connect with the X34 at Rode.
Their are changes to the D2 /D2x timetable from the 31st August There will be minor changes to the timetable to improve punctuality on every day of the week. Some off-peak and evening journeys that currently run as a D2x will now instead run as a D2 via Beckington and Rode. No changes to the D2x route which will stay on its current route use link below to see details
